SNOOP DOGG THE GREATEST MC OF ALL TIME?

Snoop Dogg reclines comfortable with a roll of home reefers, methodically analyses an array of new street hip hop tunes, from the auto tune domination to the club banger anthems, this is a new trend he has subconsciously or consciously contributed immensely to.

Now the big question, after over 15 years of tyrannically holding the monopoly of rap dominance, like a cat with 9 lives, only probably with a tech nine' hidden in his holster.

He has witnessed the, enigmatic dominance of bone-thugs n harmony in the 95-98 era, the party fuelled gyration of the bad boy family in the 97-98 era, the years of the Dog, with DMX, looking seemingly unstoppable 1998-2000.

These glory years came and passed, but one remaining constant in the whole picture was Snoop Dogg, they've all come and gone, but Snoop is still here. Controversially retaining a top 5 spot in MTV's hottest MC list 2008 and 2009 respectively, earning awards and award nominations, all through the way, losing some, questionably though.

Even his seemingly worst album performance ever, with Gold status, happens to be one his most triumphant albums, dropping at a time the world economy was at its worst, even Freddie Mac crashed, Snoop still danced, alongside the hottest of today's artist, even the highly in form Lil wayne, T.I, Rick Ross, Jay Z, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and 50 Cent some went platinum, some struggled to go platinum, and some didn't, despite, having just their first seminal albums.

Rap pundits wonder how Ego trippin could actually sell, questioning its creative inclination, but it did go gold and went 3x platinum on the hottest Bootleg Sites.

Some Say, Snoop is a lyrical Chameleon, with the most resilient adaptive traits wired in its DNA, I might want to disagree with this, but the most acclaimed talented lyricists have either gone down below or basically gone bust, the likes of Cannibus, Freeway, Talib kweli, Mos Def, Kurrupt, the list is endless, with all these names in retrospect you are forced to give it a thought.

The acclaimed greatest of all times, Tupac Shakur, Christopher Wallace, Rakim, where not actually time tested, with the first two dying shamefully during their dominance, and death granting them the priceless legendary status they now enjoy.

What if DMX got shot in controversial circumstances during the nerve chilling dominance he had in the Years of the Dogg (1998-2000), Maybe he'll be acclaimed the greatest today, but only time exposed his lack of staying power and versatility.

But Snoop is still here, in our face from sitcoms to ESPN, more popular than ever. No doubt he is a living legend; with over 50 million records sold, record breaking shows, movies and a music catalogue to die for.

Can he be the Greatest MC of all Time?
